Remembering What He Has Already Done

Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced, Psalm 105:5 (NIV)

When we are exhausted, weary to the bone, and when troubles come upon us and weigh us to the ground, it is easy to forget the many victories we have already achieved through Jesus Christ.

Sometimes our griping and complaining overcomes our praising and thanking God. The small problems before us cause us to forget the many accomplishments behind and long list of victories we have achieved.

I am tempted at times to get discouraged by my ongoing health issues and troubles, but I remind myself that it was not so long ago that I was dying. No matter how bad I may feel, or what issue comes against me, I am alive because of the kindness of my God. Keeping that perspective my troubles seem mere nuisances in comparison.

Depending where we place our focus there will be reasons to complain or reasons to praise God. If you try at all you will find something to thank God for, something to be grateful for, something that gives you reason to lift your eyes to heaven and sing a song of love toward God.

Our problems may be numerous, yet blessings surround us. If we have life we have many things to thank God for and appreciate Him for.

Troubles and challenges face us every day, but so do blessings both large and small. With a little effort we can look beyond the temporary to the eternal and see there is a loving God awaiting us who is bigger than our problems and better than our wildest imaginations.

Prayer: Dear Lord, You know our problems and difficulties, You know the trials we face. Help us to look beyond them and see the many blessings and kindnesses You send our way. Amen.
