Get Wisdom And Godly Advice

How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16 (ESV)

As a Christian you are going to need godly wisdom and advice throughout your life. Every day brings choices our way, new paths to follow, and old paths to avoid.

Wisdom can come from a variety of sources. The most prominent being the Bible, which is filled with experiences of believers and godly insight and many examples of things to avoid as well. And within every believer resides the Holy Spirit who will bring scriptures to mind, giving us insight and even warnings through intuition about things to avoid.

God uses Christian friends and family members to offer suggestions and advice as we seek the best choices and correct paths to take. A truly wise person is both teachable and willing to listen to others.

Discernment and good judgement come from experience and time. As we grow we learn, we sometimes make mistakes and bad choices but even those are valuable if we learn from them. As we rely more and more upon God, grow through prayer and His word, lean upon the Holy Spirit within us, and follow godly advice, we will become bother wiser and more useful to God.

Wherever we find ourselves, in difficult circumstances or having the time of our lives, we need godly wisdom and advice, guidance and discernment to follow and please God through our actions and decisions. A good place to start is by reading the Bible, and being guided by the Spirit of Wisdom, the Counselor God has placed inside every child of God.

Prayer: Dear Lord as we go through life help us to hold tightly to You, and to be guided by You in our decisions and actions. Thank You Lord. Amen.
